Little Big League

It's the start of another little league season, and the Walkertown Nationals can hardly contain their excitement.

Pitcher Blake Crim said, "I really want us to win so we can get trophies this year!"

The baseball diamond can be the perfect place to show off to the whole family, and on Saturday 8-year-old Matthew Armstrong got to show off to someone he hasn't seen in eight months: his dad.

Matthew's father, Pfc. Frank Marques was stationed with the army in Iraq. During the Walkertown Little League's opening ceremony Marques came in to surprise Matthew.

Marques will return to Iraq in a few weeks, planning on returning home in August.

Matthew didn't wait long to impress dad, hitting a single and scoring in his first time at-bat.

"I did it for you!" exclaimed Matthew.

His dad replied, "I know. Thank you!"
